Welcome back to the fourth unit of the MOE Healer grade!
In this unit, we’ll have a closer look at hand reflexology, from a slightly different angle. And as usual in the Healer grade, there will also be more thought-provoking content to study.
Before we begin, though, a quick question:
The end of the Healer grade is still somewhat further off – we’ll be busy learning and practicing the Healer material till the end of the year.
But if experience is anything to go by, the end of the year will be upon us swiftly, suddenly and unexpectedly… and with the end of the year comes the question (for me) of what to do and to publish next. ๐
Thus I want to plan ahead a bit, and I’d appreciate your help!
As far as you can tell already, do you think you’ll be inclined to continue with the Master grade afterwards?
I don’t need a definite answer, or a binding signup. It also doesn’t matter whether you’re still “on schedule” with the course, of whether you are lagging behind. I simply want to get an idea of the lay of the land to help me plan for next year.
Please leave me a comment below indicating whether you might be interested in continuing with the Master or not. Thanks! ๐
And now… on we go with the work!
Coursework
- To Practice – Blessing Walk, Healing Hands, Foot Reflexology, Muscle Testing
Continue with the practices you’ve learned in the Candidate and Apprentice grades, ideally daily.
- To Study – 5 Laws
Study the five Laws and the Conclusion in the way explained in the Intro to the Healer grade, and/or use it as basis for your discursive meditation. As always, you are not supposed to blindly believe this text as gospel, but instead to study it thoroughly, contemplate it, and to come up with your own ideas and thoughts about it.
Online Version (from “THE LAW OF CREATION” all the way down, including the section “CONCLUSION”)
PDF Version (page 7 from “THE LAW OF CREATION” and everything on page 8) - To Practice – Hand Reflexology: More about the zones
Continue your daily practice of Hand Reflexology, but with a twist: During this unit, study the sections on the different zones, reflect on them from your own experience, and incorporate what you learn into your daily practice.
Online Version (From “HEAD ZONE โ The Fingers” up to and including the section titled “LEG ZONE”. The section “THE HANDS REFLECT THE ILLNESSES OF THE EMOTIONAL BODY” is part of a later unit. See Commentary below for the graphics in this section.)
PDF Version (Page 20 and 23, from “HEAD ZONE โ The Fingers” up to and including the section titled “LEG ZONE”. The section “THE HANDS REFLECT THE ILLNESSES OF THE EMOTIONAL BODY” is part of a later unit. See Commentary below for pages 21 and 22.) - To Practice – Essene Healing Breath: Continue as in last unit
Continue to practice the Healing Breath meditation up to Step 8, as introduced in Unit 15 and explained in the Commentary there – unless you practice another form of meditation, e.g. discursive meditation which you could use to meditate on the theoretical study texts of the Healer grade.
Online Version (Section “Stage Three: Step Eight โ Extending your window of opportunity”)
PDF Version (Section “Stage Three: Step Eight โ Extending your window of opportunity” on page 21; note that Phase 3 of the Healing Breath is covered in the Apprentice pdf and not in the Healer pdf!)
Reflection Question
While you do the work of Unit 16, take some time to reflect on the following question:
What are the laws of healing?
Meditation Topics
Note that for the Healer grade, there is a lot of meditation fodder in the study texts. I’m not going to pull these topics out of the study texts for you, though – that’s up to you to chew on for yourself!
But if you should need fodder for your discursive meditations beyond what you have found in this unit’s texts, the following topics should give you something to work with:
- Which aspects of healing are ruled by laws?
- Which aspects of healing are not ruled by laws?
- What areas are there in your body?
- What areas are there in your hand?
- How are your hands connected with your body and its areas?
- How are your emotions connected with your body and its areas?
- How do you create your emotions?
- How do your emotions create you?
- How do you create your intentions, beliefs, and behavior, and how do they create you?
- How do you create your own healing, and how does it create you?
And if you have enough ideas on your own and don’t need any from this list, that’s even better!
Commentary
A few notes on the Healer grade
By now, you have probably (or hopefully… ๐ ) settled into the somewhat different rythm and practice of the Healer grade. I also hope that the study texts have grown on you, as they contain quite a lot of the hidden power of this grade!
There isn’t much to say from my end at this stage, but I wanted to encourage you (yet again) to not just read those texts, but to study them closely, contemplate them, meditate about them if appropriate (i.e. if you’re not practicing the Headling Breath meditation instead). And most of all: apply them in your life, however is a good fit for you.
The applications are endless and highly individual, but I guarantee there are ways you can apply them – and if you don’t do so, you’ll miss the best of the MOE Healer grade!
Hand Reflexology
So far, we’ve approached the Hand Reflexology in a rather intuitive way. I set it up like this deliberately, as I wanted you to be able to gain your own experiences and your own perceptions first.
This unit’s text introduces a “layout” or “map” of the different zones on your hand. This map is a weird mix: On the one hand, it matches body areas onto the different areas of your hands. On the other hand, it also matches emotions onto body areas (and thus onto zones of your hand).
While this “map” which the text lays out looks nice and orderly, authoritative and conclusive, in reality it isn’t. ๐
First, it might not match your own perceptions and experiences – maybe only in certain subtle aspects, maybe in major ways.
(Yes, that’s why we went with your own experiences first – otherwise you might have been so fixated on the map that you wouldn’t even have noticed other things anymore!)
And secondly, well, there are other ways to map body areas onto your hands, as evidenced by the diagrams on pages 21 and 22 of the pdf version of the MOE material… ๐
(These diagrams are also displayed on the right side of the online version, but somewhat smaller. If you want to look at them at your computer, either use the pdf file, or save them on your computer and then open them to zoom in.)
As the text at the bottom of page 22 says, you are encouraged to study both, and to come up with your own conclusions.
Of course, you are also very strongly encouraged to compare both versions to your own experiences and perceptions, and to draw your own conclusions from this! ๐
In any case, with this unit, we are beginning to systematize your Hand Reflexology a bit more. Once you have some idea of which emotions are stored where, and how hand zones relate to your body zones, you can start to use Hand Reflexology for systematic treatment…
As usual, I encourage you to work on yourself first and foremost, especially as stored emotions can run deep and trigger various things:
Make sure a. you know what you’re doing when you treat others, b. you are allowed to do so by your local laws and regulations, c. you have their informed consent for any treatment you give them, and d. you are well equipped to competently deal with anything which might come up.
Of course, you can always use Hand Reflexology on yourself, and just for yourself, and thus gain a lot from it. Or give people close to you a nice and relaxing general hand massage, like you did for yourself the first few weeks, without “treating” any particular body areas or stored/stuck emotions…
Healing Breath Meditation
Finally, there is no new material for the Healing Breath meditation in this unit. However, as you surely have noticed, the last few steps are a bit harder to “practice” consciously by command, just because a certain unit asks you to do so… ๐
Thus you’ll need to move ahead at your own pace. E.g. if you haven’t quite been ready to move into Step 8 last time, maybe the time will come while you work on this unit, and so on. Be flexible and take things as fast or as slow as they come – but don’t neglect to study the material so you’re prepared for them when the time is right.
Further Resources
There are by far not as many resources (in the form of video or audio files) available for the Healer material as there were for the Candidate and Apprentice material, thus this section will be noticeably shorter for the units of the Healer grade.
Always worth a read are the comment sections to JMG’s posts, accessible via the “Online Version” links in the Coursework section.
Our own prior comment sections are also worth a read, especially as comments continue to trickle in over time. Here’s the link to the comment section of Unit 15.
(In case you shouldn’t have noticed yet, all my posts have at least one “category” assigned to them, and most also have “topics” assigned. Categories and topics are listed below the actual post text, i.e. you’ll see them if you scroll just a wee bit further down from here. Clicking on the topic “MOE Course” will get you straight to a list of all course posts.)
Outlook
In two weeks (on Sunday October 12th, 2025) we will continue this Modern Order of Essenes course with Unit 17 in the Healer grade.
Until then, I’m looking forward to your comments and your feedback, and I hope you enjoy the work of this unit. ๐

Hello Regine! I won’t be ready for Master Grade in early 2026. The information I have received and am practicing in Apprentice and Healer will need a little more time to stew within and I’m not sure I have aspirations to be a Master at this point in my journey.
That said, another opportunity for me to tell you how meaningful your courses have been in my life. I feel much more connected, loving, grounded and healed. Thank you so much for these courses and the wonderful energy you are offering the world. All my best!

Hi Vicki,
You’re very welcome, and kudos to you for taking them up and putting in the work! ๐
Thanks also for your reply. The main question to me right now is whether anybody is considering to move further at all, i.e. whether it’s worth putting my time and energy into this project vs. something else. Whether you are ready immediately in January wouldn’t be that much of a concern, only whether you are (very tentatively) considering to go further at all, even if it should be later – and I take your reply to mean “probably not, as far as you can tell at this point”.
This is very helpful to know, so thanks again,
Regine

Well, I’m glad to finally be able to rejoin the lessons. I took your advice to heart and gave myself some grace and time to catch up on life. Let me tell you, it was very needed! My kids are now in a special therapy for their autism, my vehicle and house are more in order, and my work is finally settled down.
In terms of the MoE work, the main thing I have focused on was maintaining a daily practice of some kind, and keeping the blessing walk going as I went through life. Sometimes all I could do was a brief sphere of protection and a couple minutes of meditation before my boys were up and about, other mornings I can go out to my shrine in the woods and stay each day with a full set of rituals, prayer, and meditation. The point is that this is how I keep starting every day and I keep up with the process.
Honestly, just continuing the practice has been a journey in and of itself. This month has been arduous in the best ways. During my meditations I was inspired to make some changes amd do a few things. Oh, I’ve decided to add discursive meditation to the mix, doing the healing breath every day before activating my healing hands, even on days I only have a few minutes, but on days I have time I sit and meditate on a theme – I have had several. “Listen to the Gods speak,” “I am not my thoughts or feelings,” “What does it mean to heal and be healed…” I’ll continue to pull themes from these lessons.
I felt that this month should be one of purification. It began with a pledge of abstinence for the month to gather my vital energy and stop wasting time and effort on something I dont have time for. Then finally quitting nicotine (3rd round of that fight). Then quitting alcohol temporarily for the month. I’ve pretty much restricted myself to a monastic life this month. It just felt…right. I set the intention to see how far my focused will could go, and make myself as pure as possible – as part of my healing process, to see if I could, and to see how it affected me. The effects were… interesting. I wont get into all of them, but one unexpected benefit is I’m remembering my dreams a lot more. A much expected effect is having more time and money to focus on what I needed to take care of in life and generally feeling better.
I was also inspired to do a full sage cleanse of my home, and invoked the healing hands to cleanse all the old energy of my ex, and all ex owners out. That was… intense. I ended up getting posessed by the very energies I wanted to be rid of, which made me reflect on how you can’t cast anything out outside youself until you’ve exorcised it from within you. It was a very good process that taught me a bit about myself and working with energies. It meeded to happen, and I just feel better in my home now.
In any case, to address the things you worked so hard to post here, I’ll start by saying I would love to advance as far as poasible, but I need time. It seems I need to focus on the apprentice material for awhile. So while I vote yes, maybe we can take a break at the end of the apprentice grade, give us stragglers time to catch up, and see how we all feel at that point.
The laws of healing? Why those would be
The law of contagion – we are affected by and affect those around us with our thoughts, intentions, energy, and spiritual state. We have a responsivility to at least try and keep ourselves in a positive state.
The law of creation – we are all a part of a vast creation of a single consciousness. I prefer to think of us all as thoughts and dreams within a vast consciousness. The point is, even if you believe in many gods, there is a fundamental unity behind the diversity, hence the interconnection of all things…
The law of intentions – what we set our mind to, consciously or unconsciously, we tend to acheive. Not always in a time frame we want, and not without unintended consequences, but we do tend to get what we focus our intention and attention on.
The law of belief – our lives are shaped by our beliefs about ourselves and the world around us. Very often we are kept miserable, trapped, and sick by the beliefs we have, but we can change those and thus change ourselves.
The law of behavior – our behavior stems from our beliefs and intentions. Thus changes in habits requires changes in thoughts and intentions – start at the source and move downstream, so to say.
The law of healing – all healing proceeds from changes in ones intentions, beliefs, and behaviors, and is the most downstream of the changes we can effect – and yet is kind of the point of all this work, isnt it?
I will say John Gilbert makes it seem quite easy to change one’s intentions and beliefs, emotions and thoughts. I find it’s really difficult and I constantly need to invoke divine help for this purpose! Still, it is possible – if we were just mechanistically predestined all this would be pointless, and I’ve never believed in that outlook. Our consciousness is the center of our experience and we do have free will, we just have to really work to gain true freedom, to be able to inoke and evoke feelings and thoughts at will, in accordance with freely chosen intentions and beliefs. That’s the goal, but man is that a huge mountain to climb…
I think I will make each of these laws a subject of discursive meditation. I’ll comment on later lessons when I can get to them. But I’m going at the best oace I can right now – this journey is a marathon, not a sprint, after all!
Thank you, Regine, for all you time and hard work putting this all together. I can’t thank you enough, it really has profoundly helped me over the last year. Be blessed, be well.
Regine says
Hi Paedrig,
You’re very welcome – thank you for committing to the MOE! ๐
I’m very glad to hear you’re doing better and got some things sorted. Kudos to you! Sometimes material life takes precedence, I think, just like sometimes we should rather focus on our spiritual work, on our emotional development, or on whatnot else, instead of getting bogged down in the physical.
It seems you did absolutely awesome during this time, though, in setting a routine and sticking with it, but also giving yourself the flexibility needed to deal with each day. Well done! ๐
But from what you are telling, at least this month, you’ve done quite a bit more than just some basic exercises! An interesting journey indeed, huh? ๐
I suppose you are referring to the Healer grade since you post this here? In any case, just to let you know: I’ve decided to continue with the Master, but I will continue right away in January. However, you don’t have to proceed immediately. My plan is to keep these course lessons up, well, maybe not forever (that’s a looooong time! ๐ ), but I certainly don’t have any intention to take them (or the site itself) down. So you can simply continue at your own pace.
The attunements aren’t mandatory, unless you want to become a Master Teacher and be able to teach the MOE to others. But even then, you don’t need to be attuned now, but can just as well have an attunement later. Unless you feel good and ready, that is, in which case I’d say go ahead… ๐ Just in case you haven’t seen it, there will be Healer attunements in January. Since this is still a few weeks out, if you should be working on the Healer material (i.e. your above quote was a typo) and want to participate, make sure to put in a comment with your preferences for the date!
That’s to say, I’d be thrilled if you’d advance all the way to the end, maybe even to Master Teacher – but it’s certainly up to you, and you can take all the time you need or want! ๐
Yes, John Gilbert makes some things sound deceptively easy (assuming it was him who wrote these passages), and in fact I have my quibbles with some parts of the text. I mostly keep my own comments about the content to myself, as you’re not supposed to parrot my thoughts about it, but to develop your own, and only mention my position when I have major qualms about the content. But yeah, I totally get what you mean! On the other hand, we sometimes make such change harder for us that it’d need to be, so… ๐
Meditating on these laws is a great idea. Overall, the “theoretical” texts offer a ton of very good meditation material which can lead you very far.
Agreed, it’s a marathon, and there are no winners or losers by time – just people who make it through to the other side, and people who don’t. ๐
I take it you got the house, and maybe also yourself, thoroughly cleaned out. Glad to hear that! And again, you’re very welcome – but it’s the MOE which is having this impact. I’ve just been restructuring things a bit! ๐
All the best to you on the next leg of this journey,
Regine
PS: You can comment on later or earlier lessons, or on both. The comment sections stay open, and I’m fine with either, as long as the MOE course comments stay on the MOE course posts and aren’t splattered all over my essays and the other stuff on the site. ๐
Paedrig says
Yes, I meant the Healer grade. Sorry. I thought I proofread this, but I guess I glitched on what overall order we are in or something.
So the healer attunement is in January? I’ll try to be ready. I do, however, have another course of study to work on in which I’m still an apprentice but about to no longer be one – my training to be a lightning wizard! (aka electrician)
So, we’ll see where I stand at the year’s end. Who knows? I might prove to be an expert juggler! I have proven to be pretty dextrous amd quick before… but I’m not going to risk dropping any balls in my life – that mess would be a nightmare to deal with. I promise I’ll try my hardest, can’t promise any more than thay. I’ll get back to you with an idea of when I should be able to be attuned before the 17th. I’ll probably only comment on lesson 18 amd 20, and summarize the last 2 lessons in an effort to move along quickly.
The MoE may be doing the work, but you’re definitely a very able assistant, and none of the work would be getting done without you. So thanks again.
Regine says
Hi again,
Thought so about the Healer… ๐
You can be attuned (if you want to, that is!) even if you’re not completely done with all the Healer units yet. Judging by your comment, you’ve put in continuous work, which is important to help the energies to flow properly. I.e. don’t rush through the remaining units, but rather get attuned and then finish the remaining bits and pieces at your own pace.
There is still more than a month left before the first attunement option, and potentially more before they will actually happen. Enough time for you to make some more progress, after which you should be fine… Definitely don’t drop any other balls in your life just to hasten to the attunement! And if you should not feel ready at all to be attuned in January, don’t feel pressured to do it now.
An eletrician… cool! I hope you enjoy the work. Dunno about your part of the world, but over here, skilled craftsmen are almost always solidly booked, especially if they are reliable, and reasonably friendly and communicative… ๐
All the best to you,
Regine
