Welcome back to the Healer grade of this Modern Order of Essenes course!

This unit introduces the One Big New Thing in the Healer grade – at least from a practical standpoint… (As I explained in the Intro to the Healer grade, this grade predominantly contains a lot of new material in the abstract realms, which also deserves your focus and attention!)

But in the upcoming two weeks, you’ll also start out adding Hand Reflexology to your arsenal.

Putting Things in Order

This is the sixteenth part of my essay series “Inner Work with the Planets”. If you haven’t read the earlier parts yet, I suggest you start with part 1 to get the most out of this essay.

The last essay ended with us wondering what you could get out of doing this kind of inner work, based on the Hermetic understanding of the planets. Or rather, I suppose it’s something you might be wondering about, and you might be relieved to hear it’s one of the things we’ll be talking about in this essay. 😉

But there’s also something else we’ve never really discussed, and instead have always taken for granted somehow… and that’s the order of the planets.

At some point a while back, I might have mumbled something vague about the planets appearing in the same order as they are in the solar system, or something to that effect. Which is, of course, technically true – if we only talk about what modern astronomy considers to be planets, i.e. Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn.

(As astute reader, you will have noticed that these five appear in exactly the same order as e.g. in the mnemonic “My Very Educated Mother Just Served Us Nachos”…)

But what about the Moon and the Sun? Why is the Moon’s sphere closest to the earth, and why is the Sun’s smack in the middle of the planetary onion?

Well, we’ll talk about the significance of the Sun and the Moon somewhat more next time. For today, though, let’s first focus on another, no less interesting question: Is the Hermetic order of the planets only determined by their astronomical order? Or does it have some other, more hidden layers to it as well?

It’s a pleasure for me to undertake this journey with you folks, and I hope you will enjoy the Healer grade and get a lot out of it (and then consider taking the Master afterwards – but we’ll cross that bridge towards the end of the year… 😉 ).

This post contains all the relevant info for the upcoming Apprentice attunement.

Since there isn’t any new course material to practice this week, this also gives you some breathing room: to catch up if you’re a bit behind, or to re-view previous material.

Whatever you do with this extra time, though, it’s important that you keep practicing regularly before and after the attunement! This will help the energies to flow properly and do what they are supposed to do.

How to Make Your Way to a Tropical Island

This is the fourteenth part of my essay series “Inner Work with the Planets”. If you haven’t read the earlier parts yet, I suggest you start with part 1 to get the most out of this essay.

In the first half of this series, we’ve taken a slow, contemplative ascent through the planetary spheres, all the way up from earth to Saturn, and then beyond the planets to the Fixed Stars. We’ve also, somewhat on the side, talked a lot about Hermeticism and some of its concepts and ideas.

Starting with today’s essay, in the second half of this series, we’re going to look at things from a different angle.

(For the mathematicians among you, when I say first and second “half”, I don’t strictly mean a half as in 50%. In fact, you might be relieved – or disappointed? – to hear that the second “half” of the series will be somewhat shorter than the first. But it will also be a lot more practical, and we’ve still got some interesting stuff to discuss, so I hope you’ll stay tuned! 😉 )

Today, for starters, we’re tackling the ascent again: But this time in one go, and with our focus not on understanding each of the planets in detail, but on the ascent as a whole:

Modern Order of Essenes Course – Unit 12

Well. It’s a bit hard to believe, but this is the last unit of the Apprentice course! Woohoo!

We have been on this quest together since mid-February. And while at first it felt (at least to me 😉 ) as if there was still an endless amount of lessons before us, it’s now almost the end of July, we’re in the last unit – and have been busy planning for the Apprentice attunements (and at least in my case, also for the upcoming Healer grade).

So first of all, before we dive into Unit 12: Congratulations!

Having made it this far, against all the smaller or maybe even larger obstacles life might have thrown at you, is no small feat. Just the fact that you got this far is worth celebrating – well done! 🙂

And if you should have started later, or taken longer, the same holds for you: You made it to the last unit, and you really deserve to give yourself a vigorous pat on the back (and also a treat or two! 😉 )

(Seriously – you should give yourself the deserved credit for pulling through, and also reward yourself in some way!)

As you will notice, the work of this last unit isn’t exactly less than before. After all, you’re still supposed to continue with your practices. But it gets less in the sense that there are less new things to learn. In this final unit, the work of the Apprentice grade is, finally, winding down…

As Above, So Below

This is the thirteenth part of my essay series “Inner Work with the Planets”. If you haven’t read the earlier parts yet, I suggest you start with part 1 to get the most out of this essay.

In the last essay, we started the descent back down to earth again, all the way from the fixed stars in the eigth sphere. We also had a lively discussion of Hermetic ideas, about the importance of being well rooted here on earth while we still dwell in our current state of dual nature, and about different kinds of descents through the planetary spheres.

During all this, we descended about halfway down again, back through the sphere of the Sun… and are just now entering the sphere of Venus.

MOE Apprentice Attunements in August

In this unit, there are still some new things to learn, but we’re slowly but surely reaching the point where you will (hopefully!) comfortably settle into the work, and where it’s not so much about learning new things anymore, but about consistently applying what you have learned so far.

By now, you should have established a working routine to integrate the MOE practices into your schedule. How this looks like will be highly personal, of course – but please feel free to share and discuss any related issues or ideas, successes and failures in the comment section!

But for now, there are still some more things to learn and to study…
