Welcome back to this third unit of the Master grade!
I hope you have found the Master grade enjoyable and inspiring so far! ๐
In today’s unit, we’re going to start with yet another new technique and one of the core elements of the Master grade, namely the so-called Bridge of Love. It’s one of my most favourite parts of the Modern Order of Essenes, and a very valuable tool – and I hope you will also come to love it!
(If not, well, the MOE offers more than enough other things for you to love, so there’s that! ๐ )
As an aside, once you start with the Bridge of Love, I’m sure you’ll recognize certain elements from your most recent studies of the Tree of Life…
So without further ado, let’s get to work!
Coursework
- To Practice – Blessing Walk, Healing Hands, Foot and Hand Reflexology, Muscle Testing, Essene Healing Breath
Continue with the practices you’ve learned in the Candidate, Apprentice and Healer grades, ideally daily.
If you practice another form of meditation, e.g. discursive meditation (which you could use to meditate on the theoretical study texts of the Master grade ๐ ), you can use it instead of the Essene Healing Breath – the choice is yours.
- To Study – The Tree of Life, Part Three – The Abyss
Study Part 3 of John Gilbert’s “The Tree of Life”, and/or use it as basis for your discursive meditation. As always, you are not supposed to blindly believe this text as gospel, but instead to study it thoroughly, contemplate it, and to come up with your own ideas and thoughts about it.
Note that the lessons on the Tree of Life are not included in the MOE pdf files, i.e. you will have to read them online, or print out/reformat the online version from JMG’s Dreamwidth site for your personal use:
Online Version (only part 3, i.e. the lower half)
- To Practice – Bridge of Love: Step One
Study the instructions for Practice One of the Bridge of Love. Connect them to the Tree of Life in any way you see fit.
Practice this first step of the Bridge of Love daily while you work on this unit.
Online Version (only the section labelled “Practice One”)
PDF Version (page 7) - To Practice – Ear Reflexology
Continue to practice Ear Reflexology, ideally daily, as explained in the last unit.
Online Version (only the part from “Essene Ear Reflexology” down to “The rest of the outer ear is the outer portion.”. The “Advanced Essene Healing Techniques” belong to later units.)
PDF Version (pages 26 and 27)
Reflection Question
While you do the work of this unit, take some time to reflect on the following question:
Who or what is a Master?
Meditation Topics
For the Master grade, again, there is a lot of meditation fodder in the study texts. I’m not going to pull these topics out of the study texts for you, though – that’s up to you to chew on for yourself!
But if you should need fodder for your discursive meditations beyond what you have found in this unit’s texts, the following topics should give you something to work with:
- What is the meaning of a triangle?
- What is the purpose of a triangle?
- What do spheres of light represent?
- What is the Divine Father?
- What is the Divine Mother?
- Why does energy flow?
- How does energy flow?
- What is an abyss?
- What might be dangers of an abyss?
- What might be potentials or opportunities of an abyss?
And if you have enough ideas on your own and don’t need any from this list, that’s even better!
Commentary
Again, there isn’t that much to comment on left at this stage…
Some notes on the Bridge of Love
The Bridge of Love (which is also called “Bridge of Light” in the material) is my most favourite technique of the Modern Order of Essenes. If I had to choose just one thing which I could continue practicing, this would be it.
(Although I have to admit Foot Reflexology is a close second – I mean, who doesn’t enjoy a good foot rub after a long day?)
Granted, we are all different, and your mileage may very much vary. Still, I very much hope you’ll come to love it as much as I do – and either way, I at least expect you to give it a fair try! ๐
The Bridge of Love practice starts out rather slow, with only the first triangle. But this slow build-up is important, even if it might feel a bit boring at first!
Eventually, there will be quite a bit of energy flowing through you, courtesy of the Bridge of Love. And the paths this energy takes need to be well-trodden, in order for it to flow more or less automatically.
Thus it’s important to really practice the basics. The more diligently you practice the first steps, the easier the more advanced steps will be – and the faster you’ll get to benefit from the Bridge of Love…
Since you have started studying John Gilbert’s take on the Tree of Life in the past couple of units, you should be well familiar with the concepts mentioned in the Bridge of Love instructions. Please feel free to re-read the relevant passages of the Tree of Life material, though, and refer back to them however much you like.
If you practice discursive meditation, there is a wealth of great meditation topics to be found not just in the material on these two practices, but also on their combination.
(And if you don’t practice discursive meditation, why, nobody is keeping you from reflecting on these things anyway!)
On the other hand, much as I’d encourage you to apply reflection and contemplation on these topics, there is only so-and-so much you can do with your mind. In the end, the Bridge of Love is about letting Divine healing energy flow through you. And for this, you’ll need to practice the flow of this energy.
I.e. while study, reflection and meditation on the material might do you a lot of good in other regards, it won’t make you proficient at the Bridge of Love! ๐
Only practice will do this – and again, the more solid your practice of its basics, the quicker and more solid your mastery of the Bridge of Love.
One final note about the Bridge of love: Read the text carefully. The energy flow has a specific direction, and going against this direction is not advised. While these practices aren’t difficult, sometimes your really need to RTFM… ๐
Outlook
In two weeks (on Sunday February 22nd, 2026) we will continue with Unit 24.
Until then, I’m looking forward to your comments and your feedback, and I hope you enjoy this third unit of the Master grade! ๐
